Instructor Martin Reddy grew up in Scotland and started training in Chung Do Kwan Taekwondo at age 15, reaching the rank of Danbo (red/black belt) under Master Steven Bell. He then trained in Tukido (a derivative of ITF Taekwondo) under Grand Master Hock Aun Teh, also reaching the rank of Danbo. During this time, Martin also trained in UMA Kickboxing and ultimately gained the rank of 1st Dan black belt.

While practicing Tukido, Martin won gold medals in various regional and national UK competitions and was four-time British sparring champion between 1989 and 1993. He was also awarded a "full blue" for martial arts achievement from Strathclyde University in Glasgow.

Martin moved to California in 1997, and after many years away from martial arts, he picked up Taekwondo again in 2015 at the Hwa Rang Kwan Martial Arts Center under Master Steve Rapport. He rose up through the ranks once more and currently holds a 1st Dan black belt. He teaches the Tiger Tots classes at the school three times a week, helping young children aged 4-6 learn the benefits of martial arts training.
